JinkoSolar becomes Number 1 Solar Panel Supplier to India in 2020
JinkoSolar has done it once again by gaining the leadership position in the market as the number one solar module supplier by capacity. Jinko has topped all charts in 2020 with an overall performance. Specially in India, Jinko has captured a market share of 22% with shipments reaching 1200 MW+ by the end of 2020. In addition to this, Jinko has also been recognized as the top supplier to India in last quarter (Q4) with a 650 MW shipment number across all segments.
This massive achievement comes in tandem with a record global shipment number of 70 GW+ installation across the globe. As we continue to increase our market share in India, we have added some of the best clients and projects in our kitty. Jinko boasts of a rich customer mix between major IPPs, C&I Developers, EPCs and Rooftop players. We have been able to penetrate in the distribution segment as well with our Tiger and Tiger Pro Series modules which are already class performers in the utility segment.
Jinko has been a market leader when it comes to orchestrating a technology shift from poly to mono in India. We have been the advocates of Bifacial technology and its rampant adoption in all future utility scale projects. Jinko has supplied huge capacities to the likes of Azure Power, Fortum, ReNew Power, Mahindra Susten, CleanTech, Hinduja Group, KEC International among other just in 2020 which resonates in our annual shipment number of 1.2 GW+ to India only.
India remains to be a very important market for JinkoSolar and we have proved that by showcasing exemplary numbers in a challenging year like 2020. Despite the pandemic, raw material price rise and shortage, high freight charges, etc. we managed to deliver quality shipments to our customers to the tune of more than 1.2 gigawatts. This speaks volumes about Jinko’s commitment to its customers and playing its part in India’s renewable energy journey.
