Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project Commissioned:
The largest floating solar project in central and north India has been commissioned in Omkareshwar, Madhya Pradesh. This 90 MW project, developed by SJVN Green Energy Limited, cost Rs 646 crore and is expected to generate 196.5 million units of electricity in its first year. Over its 25-year span, it will contribute significantly to reducing carbon emissions and conserving water by reducing evaporation​ (Business News).

India Rises to Fourth in Global Renewable Energy Ranking:
India has become the fourth-largest producer of renewable energy globally. From 76.38 GW in 2014, the country’s renewable energy capacity has surged to 203.1 GW in 2024. This growth includes significant increases in solar and wind power, contributing to India’s goal of 500 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2030​ (Outlook Business).

US Support for India’s Renewable Energy Goals:
During the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) Summit, the US pledged support for India’s renewable energy ambitions. This collaboration focuses on solar, wind, and grid modernization to help India achieve its 500 GW clean energy target by 2030. This partnership aims to enhance bilateral engagement and knowledge sharing between the two nations​ (Energetica India).
